Shelly Parker BIO

Michelle (Shelly) Parker is the Administrative Lead and Accountant of Orlando Project Controls, LLC.  Shelly began her career as a teacher at University High School, where she developed skills in people management, organizing work groups, teaching and mentoring other educators and resolving peer-to-peer conflicts. She resigned from teaching to care for her medically complex special needs son. As he became more stable, her fascination with the principles of construction, new house development, and home design led her to pursue a new career in real estate appraising. Within 4 years, her entrepreneurial spirit took over. She opened Parker Appraisal Group, LLC.

As a property appraiser and business owner, Shelly continued to build upon her skills through employee management and training, client development, retention as well as client education. She built strong working relationships with many local real estate agencies, mortgage companies and banks as well as some of the largest lenders throughout the United States. Overseeing all the accounting and management operations of the appraisal firm, she enjoyed a very prosperous career throughout the last 20 years.

During this time, Shelly was presented with an opportunity to open a consulting company with her fiancé, Scott Collins. Her diverse background and well-honed business skills made here a natural fit for her role at Orlando Project Controls, LLC, and has been instrumental in its growth.

Recently, Shelly decided to take a step back to spend more time with her 22-year-old son and 14-year-old daughter. She reduced her Appraisal Team as well as her client base and is now focusing more on the operations of Orlando Project Controls, LLC.

In the two minutes of spare time she has per day, you will NOT find her in the kitchen cooking. This may or may not be a request from her family. She is, however, an excellent “cook-watcher” as long as you supply her with a good bottle of wine. Shelly wishes to thank Scott for all of his cooking endeavors.

Otherwise, if you can’t find her fielding softballs on the field with her daughter or splashing and making bubbles in the pool with her son, look for her at the beach or in her craft room... or the mall.
